Magnesium hydroxide is a non-toxic, odorless, non-corrosive white powder, and its thermal decomposition temperature is 390-430 C. Mainly used in CPC, CPE, soft magnetic ferrite flame retardant. It is widely used in PP, PVC, PE, PS, PA, PC, ABS, EVA and other plastic rubber. It is also used in paint, paint and unsaturated polyester.



Magnesium hydroxide is a kind of inorganic flame retardant and smoke suppressant with high filling capacity and additive type. Its flame retardant mechanism is that when magnesium hydroxide is heated at 340-490 (?) C, it decomposes and absorbs the surface heat of the burner to achieve flame retardant effect; at the same time, it releases a large amount of water to dilute the oxygen on the surface of the burner, while the decomposed active magnesium oxide will adhere to the surface of the burner, further preventing the combustion. In the whole flame retardant process, magnesium hydroxide does not produce any harmful substances, and the decomposed products can absorb harmful gases and smoke generated by the combustion of plastics, rubber and other polymers while flame retardant. Activated magnesium oxide is a new environmental friendly inorganic flame retardant, which continuously absorbs incompletely burned melting residues, rapidly stops combustion, and eliminates smoke and droplets.



Active magnesium hydroxide flame retardant does not contain halogen group elements such as bromine (Br), chlorine (Cl), and has good flame retardant and smoke suppression effect. It is an ideal low smoke halogen-free filling flame retardant for plastics, rubber and other macromolecule materials. As the decomposition temperature of magnesium hydroxide reaches 340 C, it is very suitable for products with high forming temperature such as PP, PE, ABS, EVA, etc. It is widely used in flame-retardant insulating materials and sheathing materials, fire-retardant fillers, injection moulding masterbatch and so on.
